Liars Square Cadiz Spain
Liars Square is a small square of Cadiz, currently featured as closely linked to the carnival space. With a triangular and rectangular layout it is the main axis of a neighborhood that was founded in 1755 to complete the city between the quarters of Carlos III and the Plaza de San Antonio. In that place a shrine is carved by the will of the Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of the End, later called Cross of Truth. Ironic name, because, it was where the unemployed gathered to circulate all kinds of rumors, lies and uncertain news, so it was renamed Plaza of the Cross of Lies.
